He never wanted to replace our dad but instead became our friend. Upon moving into my first apartment John purchased me a t.v and stereo. He wanted to make sure I had nice things, that's just what kind of guy he was. Always giving of himself to others. He was a good man with a tender heart. I could always count on him to have my back if someone done me wrong. I have many good memories of him and we shared many laughs. His laugh was contagious and when he told a story it's like you were reliving the moment with him. My heart breaks at his untimely passing. May he rest in peace.

John, I truly truly love You. I have since riding piggy back as a kid.... and then even more when we met up again as adults. Thank you for reading my daughter "Superfudge".... for waking up at 3:30 am quite a few times because some man broke my heart.... thank you for making me truly believe it was his loss and he would spend the rest of his days filled with a tornado of an obsessive remorse without peace. John and I had some wonderful times together together. His death has affected me in a way that I almost can't explain. I just talked to John recently and we talked about me visiting. A few years ago John and I went on a road trip to Kentucky. We were at the Kentucky Derby buying tickets. It was raining very bad and John didn't want me to get sick or cold and he gave me his Jacket. It was a

It was raining very bad and John didn't want me to get sick or cold and he gave me his Jacket. It was a Jimmy Johnson jacket. I continue to wear this jacket in honor and in memory of John. I remember when our eyes first met. He struck up a conversation and have been friends ever since. He had hip surgery and I helped him through that and helped him in other ways too. John had a beautiful heart and soul and i will dearly miss him!!!

My parents lived with us at the time and John treated them with such respect and kindness—something my parents noticed as well. John was a blessing. Our prayers are with Jean and the family.

Although I lost touch with John many years ago, I have fond memories of John. I was in the Northrop High School class of 83. My sympathies to the family & loved ones as you mourn this loss. Too young, so sad. God Bless, Cindy

So sad to hear of this. Such a friendly and kind-hearted soul. I am so sorry and send all of my prayers to your dear family. You were like another little brother to me.

John, Over our many conversations in the past few weeks, it never entered my mind that one of those might be the last time i talk to you. I am just very thankful that we ended each call with an " I loved you" before hanging up. We had some wonderful times together and i always enjoyed our heartfelt conversations. I am so sorry that i can't be there for your service tomorrow but i am there in spirit. I know i will see you in heaven one day and until then...goodbye, sweet nephew....I love you!!!

He relished their accomplishments and ALWAYS enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.
John, your departure has left us all heartbroken, but we find solice in the fact that we shall all be together again someday. Rest peacefully....I love and miss you

Ironically, last week John DID do me an unasked-for favor which could create a huge, positive change in my life. Sadly, when I sat down Friday to write him a thank-you message, I discovered he was gone.
So, I thank you now, John, for your friendship and for "paying me back". Consider us "even". I admired your perserverance and generous spirit, loved that laugh, and will always keep the fond memories alive. Sleep well, Spence. Sleep well.
